CZECH GOLDEN RIBBON
Direct flights leave UK in the morning for the short 2-hour journey to PRAGUE.
Arriving early afternoon we transfer to our hotel in the “Speedway Crazy” town of PARDUBICE Our hotel will be the delightful HOTEL EUROPE close to the main centre of this rapidly emerging city just 15 minutes from PARDUBICE STADIUM. Prices are inexpensive and this modern hotel has proven to be a huge hit with our clients in recent years. There are numerous bars and restaurants close by and with prices so very low, you will be able to make the most of your stay in this lovely town.
Time to relax and enjoy a coffee before all roads lead to PARDUBICE STADUM just
a 15 minute drive away where the first of the weekend’s racing commences. The
CZECH GOLDEN RIBBON is a junior version of the GOLDEN HELMET and some of the races are indeed qualifiers for Sunday’s main event.
SATURDAY
WORLD UNDER-21 FINAL
We are great personal friends of ESTVAN ERBAN the “main man” in Czech speedway and the owner of JAWA, who reserves us top stadium seats for all events. Just after midday we start with the WORLD JUNIOR FINAL featuring the World’s top youngsters. These days many of the world’s top racers come from Russia, Poland and indeed Slovenia, and this will be a superb chance to see some of the top Under 21 riders from the emerging states.
SUNDAY
CZECH GOLDEN HELMET
This fabulous event with 6 riders in a race begins midday Sunday, and with such huge prizes all the many World- Class contracted JAWA riders give everything for the solid Gold helmet so treasured by all the major names. The stadium is packed with 15,000 fans, the viewing is superb, the racing always very competitive, the prices always cheap. What a weekend! Straight after the GOLDEN HELMET meeting we leave for the 2-hour journey back to PRAGUE and our JURY’S INN HOTEL situated close to the centre of historic PRAGUE. The city is a Mecca for all tourists and we suggest that you take a stroll to the Old Town and enjoy the inexpensive restaurants and bars offering such wonderful food all still open late into the evening.
MONDAY 15 OCTOBER
Much of the day is kept free for you to enjoy this wonderful city. Our flights depart late afternoon from the nearby Airport with arrival back at your local UK destination in the early evening.
*Manchester, Edinburgh, Bristol, Leeds all depart Thursday and stay 4 nights.
