We have a series of flights arriving at BUDAPEST Airport, prior to setting off through this majestic city to the Hungarian inland resort of LAKE BALATON.
This is the largest freshwater inland water in Europe, and dominates this southern area of HUNGARY. Our stay will be in the busy, attractive resort of BALATONFURED some 100kms south of the capital.
Our hotel is the 4 star luxury SILVER RESORT HOTEL, situated in the very heart of this large town, adjoining the lake and ideal for shopping, restaurants and the many café bars in the vicinity. This really is a delightful, relaxing attractive destination.
Saturday.
The SILVER RESORT HOTEL is a “Spa Hotel” with many health facilities, all available at very reasonable prices. Whether it’s the sauna, whirlpool, salt cabin, facial treatment, massage…there is everything here to make this a very “Special” weekend for relaxation.
Later we leave on the fast motorway for the GORICAN WORLD SPEEDWAY GRAND PRIX less than 2 hrs away. A totally new track and destination, it is run superbly by the PAVLIC family and has been purpose built especially for Speedway. Amazingly it is in a remote area, literally in the back yard of the family business, yet it boasts a superb 15,000 all seater stadium.
We cannot recommend this venue highly enough, and the welcome is always so warm and genuine…This is a “Must” for all Speedway fans.
Sunday.
We are leaving today almost totally free for your own personal relaxation and enjoyment. There will be an optional Lake excursion available, but we are still in peak summer, so why not swim in the excellent pool, sunbathe, have a dip in the indoor whirlpool, float away in the health suite, or just hit the many shops, there is so much to do and enjoy.
At night there are many bars, cafés and restaurants within a short walk.. this really is a top class hotel and resort.
Monday 30 August.
We depart mid morning for the 100 km drive back up the new motorway to Budapest where we will be met by our local Guide, who will take the whole group on an escorted 2hr tour of BUDAPEST. The city is in fact made up of twin areas of BUDA & PEST which are on either side of the legendary DANUBE as it wends its way through Europe.
Our various flights leave late afternoon back to the UK.
