Thursday 12 August
Our flight to NYKOPING from STANSTED will depart early morning (Edinburgh will depart Wednesday evening with a night stop close to the airport). We will depart the airport at midday, and after a quick transfer we should soon be on our way to the Baltic seaside resort of VASTERVIK. A wonderful destination with the superb 4 star STADSHOTEL making a fabulous base for our stay. In the evening we take in our first domestic meeting in SWEDEN, with an ALLSVENSKAN fixture THIS IS TOTALLY FREE TO YOU.
Friday
Today is the only main day when we have no Speedway. But we have planned an optional cruise around the islands which proliferate the area. Our bus will leave mid morning on a 2hr journey north, where we meet with our steamer for the leisurely cruise back through the Baltic Islands. We stop for a typical Smorgasbord lunch…with smoked salmon…on one of the Islands…before arriving back in VASTERVIK late afternoon. The probable cost of this will be approx £55.00 incl. lunch and all the travel.
Saturday (GRAND PRIX DAY)
A chance to see some of the local area as we leave mid-afternoon..we are just over 1 hr away from the track close to the charming small country town of Malilla. The MALILLA STADIUM is based right in the middle of a huge forest. Noise is no problem here, but the facilities and racing track are absolutely first class. We plan to arrive at the Stadium around 5.00pm in time for a superb evening’s racing at this very attractive arena. The stadium like many of the newer purpose built arenas provides superb viewing and comforts. Also in mid summer the nights seem to go on forever! We expect to be back in VASTERVIK well before midnight.

All too soon we have to leave this delightful town, heading north towards Nykoping and the direct flights back to STANSTED and Edinburgh arriving in reasonable time, allowing you to reach home in comfort.
