LAKE BLED is situated in the very heart of Europe, just 45 minutes from the capital Ljubljana and in fact only 2hrs through the mountains to Terenzano. Our 4 star PARK HOTEL has been our base for the past 3 years, and with a mid-summer date the rooms have been heavily booked for months. Our flights arrive from GATWICK and STANSTED and transfers will have us sipping a cool glass of wine within a few hours of leaving the UK.


SATURDAY
GRAND PRIX DAY
Relaxation, whether it’s swimming in the large indoor hotel pool, taking a sauna, or for the brave, a dip in the cool waters of this huge lake, the morning is totally free for your delectation. We will be arranging an optional tour of the Lake and the beautiful castle and church which nestle beside the magnificent Alpine ranges, some still snow capped in peak summer. We leave for TERENZANO mid afternoon, taking the motorway and then some amazing scenic roads through the mountain passes before entering Italy, arriving at the Track just over 90 minutes later. The actual town/village is close to UDINE but is a very rural location next to the main Autostrada. Viewing in the main grandstand is excellent, and the track itself gives the real racer every chance to pass on its wide bends and fast straights.


SUNDAY
Time to enjoy yourself as we offer a full day to the nearby Slovenian Alps. These impressive peaks dominate the whole region, and our full day will take in the “Winter sports” complex, a lovely relaxing hour to enjoy lunch, and numerous photo opportunities as our English speaking guide takes us through this lovely area. A full day to enjoy, or maybe just relax in the comfort of the Lake and its facilities.


MONDAY 13 AUGUST 2012
Fortunately we have most of the morning free to enjoy our last few hours in the lovely destination, before our Tour bus departs for the airport and our journey home back to the UK.

We have a number of local airport departures all arriving in Venice or Treviso, approx 2 hrs (220kms) transfer from our lovely hotel by the beaches of a warm Adriatic. The resort of PORTOROZ has everything, a nearby promenade several good public beaches, a top rated casino plus many shops, bars, restaurants and cafés, indeed everything you expect on a holiday. Our HOTEL LUCIJA is well appointed, and has great facilities. There is so much to do within the hotel, 2 swimming pools, sauna, fitness centre, and nearby the beaches offer swimming, beach sports, water skiing, sea fishing and you can hire a boat or take a cruise. This is a genuine “Summer Sunshine break” with some top-class speedway at the Terenzano Grand Prix on Saturday.


SATURDAY
GRAND PRIX DAY
Surprisingly the Terenzano stadium is only approx 90 minutes away on a fast motorway system. We plan to leave our resort mid-afternoon to arrive at this small country town track around 5.00pm. Facilities at the track are very basic but they have a main grandstand where all our tickets are reserved. However Terenzano is a pacey track always producing a top-class meeting with plenty of racing lines, especially as the meeting progresses. As with anything in Italian Sport, the fireworks display at the end is amazingly spectacular


SUNDAY
A full day to enjoy the most of the sunshine or for those who are looking for something different, then the large and speedy “Prince of Venice” will take you to that wonderful city for a memorable day. Also there is another more relaxing full day down the coast on a lovely sailing vessel to the ancient town of Piran. Or just sit by the pool or sea and relax with a cool glass of wine.

All too soon our relaxing sunshine long weekend has to finish. The journey back to Venice or Treviso airport should take about 2 hrs, ready for all our flights back across Europe to your local departure airport.
