We have many flights arriving in Northern Poland from all over the UK… and the arrival times vary. Our arrival airports will be all within a reasonably comfortable transfer time from our TORUN base. We have used the MERCURE HELIOS Hotel in Torun for many years…just a short 10 minute walk from the Old Town, and with all rooms with good facilities, it makes an ideal base.
THE WHOLE AREA IS TOTALLY SOLD OUT.
Saturday
TORUN is a lovely old town, home of Nicholas Copernicus the legendary Polish astronomer, and his statue, next to a wonderful medieval City hall, is where you find many locals strolling along the wide pedestrian streets. There are restaurants, café’s, and numerous bars everywhere, and prices are very reasonable. We will be arranging a walking tour of the old town on Saturday morning.
The fabulous all-seater Torun stadium is a short 10 minute drive away. This really is a “state-of-the-art” stadium, possibly the very best purpose built speedway arena in the world. The event was SOLD OUT many months before the start of the season, but thanks to our great contacts we have our 100 seats fully confirmed.
Sunday
Today, as always is Speedway day in Poland. Fortunately the nearest fixture is just 45 mins away at Bydgoszcz where the local team take on Wroclaw in what promises to be yet another fabulous meeting.
Once we return to Torun, we suggest you head off downtown to enjoy a summer’s evening meal at one of the many restaurants.
Monday
With so many different airports, times of departure will vary, but with the road systems rapidly improving, and many of the airports having been built in the past 10 years, your return transfer, on a summer’s day will round off your weekend.
